Where To Get A Penny Dreadful Book RDR2 Complete Location Guide
In Red Dead Redemption 2, tracking down specific items for your fellow gang members unlocks unique dialogues, increases Arthur's honor, and earns neat rewards. During Chapter 2, young Jack Marston asks Arthur to bring him a Penny Dreadful comic book to read around camp. Since these pulp stories cannot be bought at standard town stores, players must explore hidden shacks and abandoned settlements scattered across the frontier.
Finding the Book at Downes Ranch
One accessible spot to locate a Penny Dreadful novel is at the Downes Ranch, situated just southwest of Valentine. Head inside the main farmhouse and inspect the small nightstand placed directly beside the bed. You will discover the issue titled Wild West Heroes No. 132 resting right on top.
Retrieving this copy early in Chapter 2 provides an easy way to complete Jack's errand. Make sure to loot the surrounding drawer for extra pocket change while visiting the homestead. This location is particularly convenient if you are already completing story missions around New Hanover.
Exploring Osman Grove and Pleasance
Another reliable location to find a comic book is Osman Grove, located slightly east of Emerald Ranch. Inside the quiet cabin, look on top of the nightstand near the deceased occupants to grab Otis Miller and the Black-Hearted Lady. The mysterious atmosphere of this site makes collecting the item quite memorable.
Alternatively, players can ride into the abandoned town of Pleasance in the Lemoyne region. Enter the old abandoned schoolhouse and examine the teacher's desk situated inside the classroom. You will encounter Otis Miller and the Boy from New York, which fulfills Jack's item request.
Searching Clawson Rest and Returning the Item
If you prefer searching near the northern territory, travel to the small cottage at Clawson's Rest, located northwest of Valentine. Inside this humble structure, Otis Miller and the Arabian Prince sits on a bedside table. This gives players four flexible choices depending on which region of the world map they are exploring.
Once you acquire any single copy of these pulp comics, return to the Van der Linde gang camp. Speak with Jack to hand over the book, which boosts your overall honor level and rewards you with a chocolate bar. Checking your inventory periodically ensures you do not forget to deliver requested items during main campaign chapters.
